The night Christopher and I met, he ended up giving me a ride home from a party in Gorman. We drove the dirt roads talking for what seemed like hours. At one point we stopped on a road, sat under a huge oak tree, and had our first kiss.

The following Valentine's Day we spent the evening having dinner with my family. After dinner he asked me to go with a drive with him. He retraced our trip from that first night, telling me how happy he was that we found each other.

When we reached the tree, he stopped the car, and we got out. He had a little picnic basket in his trunk and we sat under the tree and looked up at the stars. He got a little shaky, looked really nervous, and then he asked me to marry him.

We still love to visit our tree anytime we're in Gorman. I can't believe that was six years ago!

Kimberly said...Okay, you know that we don't do anything really for Valentine’s Day or anything romantic ever, I mean, we got engaged in Lone Star’s parking lot for goodness sake, so here goes.... Back in the day, that day would be Feb. 14, 1996, 13 years ago whenever J.R. was trying to woo me, he bought roses for me. At this time, he was still in high school, and I was a sophisticated college woman (Go Highlanders!) so he decided to have them delivered to my house- waaaaaaaaay out in the country. (Can you imagine how much extra J.R. had pay for that delivery?!? But remember the wooing a.k.a. tricking part?) So, it was about 4:00 in the afternoon, when I got a call from J.R.'s mom saying that J.R. was having roses delivered to my house, a surprise to me, but the delivery lady was lost, but she was on her way. I finally got the beautiful roses, and I managed to preserve them. To this day, I still have them in a vase on display in my house. And that was Valentine's Day 1996!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
My hair is a scare,
(Goodness knows it could use some Primrose)
My skin is so dry; I think I will cry
(Winning some creme would be a living dream)
My funk is that of a skunk
(Wouldn't I smell heavenly in the scent of mint?)
My poem is the best so pick me to win the contest!!!

I married you know who!
Two boys and many years later
I wouldn't trade him for anything except a new John Deere Gator!
(not really!)

I didn't really get a proposal...my wedding was put together in 6 days, but bee-utiful! (I know that's misspelled, it was a play on words for my sweet Angel) BUT when my dad and I got to the alter, Preacher man Chad said Mike had something to say...he went through the spiel about why were having the wedding on such a whim (my dad was sick)...so he get's down on one knee (I'm expecting something GREAT) and says...."Will you marry me!" It was very sweet, but I didn't know if I should laugh or not. The wedding went on and we were married, afterward he told me he had gone through what he was going to say when he got down on his knee....but my Beauty dumbfounded him and he lost his words. Not really, I made that last part up about my beauty, he was just nervous as hell! ha!

This is just for You, Angel!
Roses are red, Violets are blue, I'll soon forget the day I fell in love with you...It was a dark dark night, the panthers were in for a fight...The halftime came, and Jessica was to blame...All I wanted was to be your friend, but you quickly put that dream to an end, Oh, when you didn't get a good view, you said..."Move, or my mom will piss on you!"

A word to the wise this Valentine’s Day
Show your love the ‘old-fashioned’ way:
Hearts of red - folded in two
Sent to those you wish to woo…

Perhaps a poem to someone you love
To show them they are fondly thought of…
A phone call is nice from across the miles
And sure to bring a bunch of smiles…

If not a call, then send a text
Who will know what could come next!
A picnic surprise with a bottle of wine
With yummy chocolates on which to dine…

If dozens of roses are out of your reach
How ‘bout a moonlit walk on the beach?
To show your sweetheart your true affection
Loving kisses could be your selection.

If you’re out of ideas and need a suggestion
Shop at Bee Angels and see the selection
Of bee-utiful things you can get for your honey
Guaranteed to make this V-Day most sunny!

Roses are red, violets are blue
My Valentine's story I'll send to you

I've been married 33 years to the same old guy
As a teenager in high school, he caught my eye.

I've never done without, he meets all my needs,
When it comes to providing, he surely succeeds.

Doesn't care what I buy for myself, but a shopper he's not
Since I'm 52 years old, everything I've got

But it's always good to be treated nice
Especially at Bee Angels at that great store Spice.

So I'll add my name to the honey pot to win,
So on Valentine's Day, I'll celebrate with a grin.

First off I'd like to start by saying....I absolutely love all of the Bee Angel products!!!! They are wonderful, I have given them as gifts to all of my friends this past Christmas and everyone loved them! Thank you so much for carrying these great products! I will forever be a customer for life!

My all time favorite Valentine's day, was 5 years ago. My husband and I were celebrating our first Valentine's Day together as a married couple (at that time we had been together for over 8 years). We usually don't buy into this commercial holiday, but since it was our first one as husband and wife....my husband went out of his way to make it special (needless to say, my husband has never really been the "romantic-type"). The day started off with a sweet note left near my car keys it simply said "Happy Valentine's Day, I hope your day is full of surprises!". The next surprise was 2 dozen roses sent to my work. On the card, he listed "24 things he loves about me". Each reason was very heart-felt and sweet! My next surprise, really surprised me! My husband actually cooked me dinner! He went out of his way and prepared all of my favorites. The best part....he even did the dishes!!! The day could not have been better and it by far has been the best Valentine's Day that I have ever had!

well I tried to be a big girl and post a comment on my own, but I failed. so here it is
Roses are red, Violets are blue...
Today is Valentine's Day and I'm at work-
Hope I can win the Lady Primrose so just in case
I can use it to cover the stinch of the old ladies poo!

Okay--so I know that's not very romantic, but neither is working on Valentine's Day.
I had two "pooey" incidents with patients this week, and I sure could have used some Lady
Primrose underneath my nose!
